Memories on a Rainy Day

It’s one of those beautiful evening, which leaves us mesmerised on how angelic nature can get. As I glance over from my window sill and see the rain drops cluttering against the walls of our building and the trees looking bright after the rain wash, sipping the hot tea. Nothing can get better than smelling the aroma of tea, shuddering the shoulders against the frosty ambience, with a backdrop of a rainy evening. Suddenly, I reckon that I am running late for my office, I reluctantly finish my cup of tea and flurry up to the gate to catch my cab.

I wrapped myself with my pastel green duppatta, which has a traces of embroidery work done here and there, over my head and prepare to cross the road to get into my cab, the driver has been waiting for over quarter of an hour now and perhaps I can see him scorning behind the car window. As I try to cross the road holding my bag, my clutch, and of course my duppatta to prevent me from getting soggy from rain, I see a small kid riding his bicycle with his father. I froze where I was standing and kept looking at the warmth vibration filled in this cold climate. For a moment, I forgot I was standing in the middle of the road getting myself soaked in the rain. (Now let me tell you why I was so moved with this father and kid).
The small boy was riding the cycle by standing (he was too small to reach the pedals that he had to stand up and ride), his father was holding the handle of the cycle in one hand, to provide balance so that the boy does not fall, his other hand was holding a small piece of cardboard above the boy’s head so that his child does not soak in rain. I started choking, my eyes filled with joyous contempt on seeing such a warm bond between father and son.
Probably my cab driver thought I was dumb, as he started honking rapidly. I soon realised where I was standing and hurriedly crossed the road and jumped into the car. I could sense the drivers heavy sigh, (He would have wished to give me a face-palm for my dumbness, I half doubt!!). After the car moved, I smothered my hair and tried to dry myself from the wet duppatta (I know it’s pointless, still we do such stupid things!!!) and after this mini chore, I duly rested my hand against the window, glancing over the passing vehicles and recollected the little boy and his father. I sheepishly smiled, my memory flashed to the time, when I was a small child and my father was teaching me and my sister to ride the bike. He used to run behind us holding the cycle to give us the necessary balance and with a slight hesitation he used to free his hands only to grab hold of the cycle again. After completing our rounds, he would catch his breath and gasp, “Both were brilliant today”!!!
As I treasure this little memory with me and prepare myself for a tough day at work, I make a small promise to myself, one day I will make him proud!!

Why CSK is best than any other team?

Its IPL season and yellow fever is already griping among the chennaites. Well, there are thousand reasons for fans like me to say why Chennai Super Kings is the best!!
I am not going to bore you with the statistics. Though stats speak for themselves that CSK is The Best. I am going to write about the funny sides, which makes the fans go crazy and shout whistle podu.
  • The first and foremost, compared to other teams, CSK promo song s damn cool. Idhu Chennai Chennai super kings, Indha yellow jersey always wins ( which is played on the ground during every boundaries and wickets!!) and what to say about the ad, it definitely makes the fans raise up and dance when they hear the whistle podu song (Enga oru chennaiku periya whistle adinga enga thalla dhoniku periya whistle adinga..click here.. to sway again )
  • The next is Thala DHONI... captain cool definitely knows how to win the matches in edge.. Chennai is the only team to have won maximum times in last over ( wow.. close shaves are pretty easy for these guys)
  • Not to forget about our lucky charm.. We don't have Ambani's or Heroines or Superstars to cheer our team but we have our own Chennai's first lady, duly sitting in stands and cheering for yellow guys in every match!! (Mrs Sakshi Dhoni )
  • We do have our own way of celebrating and raising to the occasions
like the chaka chaka dance from bravo

  • We have SIR RAVINDER JADEJA in our team!!!!!!
( isn't that more than we can ask for in a team!!!!!! )

  • We support Mumbai Indians because of Sachin, We support Rajasthan Royals because of Dravid, And We watch IPL Because of Chennai!!!!!
  • One thing which stays with Chennai team is the team themselves, from the first ipl till this season.. Chennai is the only team which has not changed much.. we have retained our players maximum.. which makes the players loyal to the team and so does the fans across.
  • Well a poll says around  84 %  like csk (dont believe.. check for yourselves!! )

We are crazy we are head over heels in love with this team.. these guys are champoins.. these guys are here to roar....

Eager to know more about our team check out Here!!!
To all those fools who think Csk team wins out of luck and its not best then here is stats for you. Check for yourselves!!!
Meanwhile to all those crazy Csk fans out there( just like me ) here is the official csk site http://www.chennaisuperkings.com/index/index.aspx

A DAY IN MY LIFE

Its SUMMER VACATION... and kids in the neighbourhood are having time of their lives playing in ground with no rules and restriction.
As I sit in the corner of my office.. staring at the computer and punching the keyboard I re mince those moments when I was a kid and how I used to spend my summer vacation..

Most of my Vacation were spent in the old dusty streets of TRIPILICANE ( call it as heaven!! ) with my whole maternal family!!!

Morning we used to wake at 5:00 and sleepily complete our daily chore in jiffy ( There used to be a dholak guy who used to beat drums 5 minutes before perumal alias God wakes!!! )
************************
Now let me tell you why we wake so soon...Triplicane is famous for Partha Sarathy temple..where everyday at 5:30 Vishwaroopam ( Waking the holy god! ) darshan is performed and it is considered as one of the best darshan.
*************************

So as the dholak starts.. we hurry up to temple to get the darshan..after the darshan, the elders start preparing for the day while we kids hit the bed again, for a short nap!!!!
As the day progresses we play in the bang-la ( a small play ground opposite to our place ) with utmost zeal and plentiful fun.In the after noon.. its time for indoor game.. kids gather around our grandma and start playing pallankuzhi ( its an ancient form of game which my grand ma taught ) , dhaiya katta ( similar to modern Ludo) among plenty others..
In the Evening, we kids accompanied by some elders go to beach and play games, we lay in the beach sand, building sand castles as the sun  sets in the back drop. As we return home the poor elder who accompanied us is forced to part with his money with the ice cream man as we rejoice the cream.

After completing the delicious dinner we stretch in the verandah ( small balcony ) chit chatting about our school days and the pranks played till we doze off...

As days passed on to years and our summer vacation turning to long working hours in the computer.. I get the nostalgic feeling.. Wish I could re live my good old days!!!!

SEASON OF LOVE!!

My Love Story
--------------------------------------------------

Its the season of love and every one are trying to be with their loved ones... so do I.. with My Love..
It goes to the place where I can relate myself the most...THE TRIPLICANE
Its the people who make the place so special.. I look back to those cherished memories on this special season

Every time I visit this place it makes me come alive...( with all strings attached ) let me introduce to the people who are close to me....and been there for me through out..

WELCOME TO MY WORLD
The moment I enter my ancestral place I can hear the shrieks of cries calling out REVZ and rushing to hug me...Well... these are my younger cousins  Krish , Pinky and Ajay (call them as brats..lovely brats though!!) after the hugging and excitement calms down and  finally we become sane again..I go to my grandpa s room.. ask about his well being ( he always says.. "I felt like seeing you..and there my gal came to see her hero!!" :) ) my grandma (aha.. she is an angel!!) slowly walks in and whispers with a loving and affectionate tone (she always asks this in a particular manner which has always made me love her more....she holds my hands tight..her eyes glistening as if she has seen a million dollar!!!.. and with her half broken teeth she gives a sheepish smile)and asks HOW ARE YOU? HAD SOMETHING? Now what ever may be my reply she wont get satisfied until she feeds me herself.. In she goes to kitchen, gets sum thing for me and starts feeding.. meanwhile we cousins gather up and start our fund-as ..now comes my Mama, Balaji, from upstairs with his latest dish ( mind you he is very good in cooking and is very passionate too!! ) so he urges me to taste his new dish..and after my astounding remarks..he passes it on to others. He is famous for two things: his passion in cooking and his hot political talks..time seems to pass on soon being with him..he makes us laugh..he makes us think..he makes us feel inspired..My other Mama, Rangu.. he is Mr. Perfectionist ( am half scared of him and I see my father in him).. then comes my two mami s..Mala mami, we always discuss about latest Bollywood mas-alas and costumes.she is like a pal to me more than mami..and Kamali mami..she is a teacher and no nonsense or pranks with her..she is very jovial and understands us very much..
My Chiti, Subha.. no words to describe her..I have always thought her as my mother..she scolds me for thousand reasons but cares for me for no reason..(that's what a mother is!!).. my chitapa, Krishnamoorthy,  he pampers us a lot.. gives us full freedom with a belief that his kids will never do a mistake!!
My Perima, Chitra..I believe in her more than any thing.. and there are various stuffs which I confide with her more than I have with my mother..My Peripa, Anand appa..he is Mr Strict..everything need to be in order for him.. but he is the sweetest person.
and there is of course my naughty sissy Shravz, my amma and my appa ( anything said is less about them.. they are the best gift god has given me )
This is the place where our family unites..our every get together and gup-shups starts..Every major and minor things discussed. Our every smiles begin only to end up as roar of laughters..Every memories attached with this place brings me joyous tears... as I take a stroll along with my grandpa ( he calls every known passer's by introduces them with me and proudly says SHE is my grand child!! ) and I proudly think.. THIS IS MY FAMILY.. MY LOVE
